BFM

Campus Radio started broadcasting in 1969 as 95bFM.

The company is owned by the Auckland University Student Assn as beneficiary of the AUSA Media Trust. Since then 95bFM has grown to be the largest broadcaster within the Student Radio Network in New Zealand.

The radio station has played a significant role in broadcasting New Zealand emerging talent, training journalists and broadcasters who have gone on to successful careers. Markus Lush and Jeremy Wells for example are some of the people who got their start with 95bFM.

95bFM now broadcasts to over 35000 people on air and 8000 people by streaming every week.

Campus Radio Ltd is a charitable company and broadcasts on a licence that limits to the amount of revenue it can earn by selling advertising. The company relies on contracts with New Zealand on Air to broadcast New Zealand content to survive along with philanthropic funding.
