Swearing in Ceremony

After two years of preparation and training Stephen was sworn in as as a Justice of the Peace at a formal ceremony at the Auckland District Court.

Having been nominated by the Honorable Jenny Salesa, MP for Panmure-Otahuhu back in 2023 Stephen successfully completed the approval and training processes including approval for appointment by the Governor General.

Both Stephen’s grandfathers were Justices of the Peace, so it’s “in the blood”

Since his appointment Stephen has served the community on the public desk at Council Libraries. With up to 40 consultations in a morning session, Stephen has been surprised by the number of clients he sees on the desk.
